I'm K.J. Waters, the author and creator behind Shelby's magical adventures.

Like many wonderful stories, this one began with someone very real.

Shelby isn't simply a character I imagined—she's my real-life companion, daily inspiration, and the gentle heart behind everything you'll discover here. Through her curiosity, quiet courage and playful spirit, she has inspired a world filled with wonder, friendship and hope.

What began as sharing Shelby's everyday adventures with a growing online community soon became something much bigger. I realised that her ability to bring comfort, smiles and connection to people of all ages could become the foundation for an entire world of stories.

That dream became Miss Shelby's World.

My vision is to create stories that grow alongside their readers—from gentle picture books and magical chapter adventures to creative activity books, mindfulness collections and many more adventures still waiting to be discovered. Whether you're four or ninety-four, I hope there's always something here that brings a little comfort, sparks your imagination or simply makes you smile.

At the heart of every book is the same belief: that kindness matters, courage comes in many forms, and the greatest adventures often begin with curiosity and an open heart.

When I'm not writing, you'll usually find me enjoying a quiet cup of coffee in the garden while Shelby keeps watch over the birds, squirrels and the wonderfully chatty parakeets. Those peaceful moments together often become the inspiration for our next adventure.
